Membership Categories

Research Members: This category is composed of professional researchers who include self-injury as a focus of their research program.

Clinician Members: This category is composed of professional clinicians (including but not limited to, psychologists, psychiatrists, counselors, social workers, nurses, physicians) whose professional practice and/or interests include a focus on self-injury.

Research/Clinician Members: This category is composed of professionals who have a dual role as both researcher and clinician with a focus on self-injury either clinically and/or in research.

Spokesperson/Advocacy (SA) Members: The spokesperson/advocacy membership category includes individuals who engage in related activities in the field of self-injury such as advocacy, educational, and policy actions. In some instances for this category the applicant may chose to not submit a CV (if not relevant) and provide a more detailed letter (not to exceed a maximum of 3 pages) outlining their SA activities and reason for wanting to join ISSS.

Student Members: This category is composed of graduate students whose research focuses on self-injury.
