2019 Call For Abstracts

The Executive Board of the International Society for the Study of Self-Injury (ISSS) invites abstract submissions for oral (paper) and poster presentations at this year’s annual conference, to be held June 21-22, 2019 in Orlando, Florida! We welcome submissions from members and non-members.

Abstracts are due for submission by February 28th, 2019!

Submission Details:
All submissions require the inclusion of a title, abstract (maximum 250 words), and author list for the proposed presentation. During the submission process, you will be able to indicate whether the submission should be considered for presentation as a paper (talk/oral presentation), poster, or both. Further, oral presentations submitted as part of a symposium are welcome; there is an opportunity to specify a symposium title during the time of submission so that separate oral presentation submissions can be linked together. You will also be able to submit your abstract for consideration for the ISSS Travel Award and the ISSS Student Award!

Decisions on submissions will be made by March 18, 2019.

How to get to the Vrije Universiteit Brussel

From Brussels Airport (Zaventem) you can reach VUB campus Etterbeek by train or by bus (bus 12). A taxi from the airport will cost you approximate 29,- EUR. Our campus is located next to the railway station "Etterbeek". There are 2 trains per hour between Etterbeek station and Zaventem Airport. It takes only 25 minutes by train to get to the Campus. Other public transport alternatives include subway, tram and bus.

If you are staying in the centre of Brussels, you can take the train from Zaventem Airport until Brussels-Central, Brussels-South or Brussels-North (depending which one is the closest to your hotel). You can check the train schedules here: http://www.belgianrail.be/en

We have another smaller airport, Brussels South Charlerloi. For European visitors it can be cheaper to take a flight to this airport. But take in account that it takes a 20 minute bus transfer to go to the train station Charleroi-South Station and there is only one direct train per hour between Charleroi-South Station and Etterbeek station. This train will take you in one hour to the Campus or the centre of Brussels.

You’ll never lose your way at the campus of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel as you can use Google indoor maps to find your way to the Conference or U-residence. You can also find your way following the next map of our campus .
